This month's volunteer workshop will be lead by Cindy Ooley, from the Department of Health and Human Services. Cindy will be giving us great knowledge about resources available through DHHS so that we can appropriately direct our neighbors to services and organizations of value to them.
This will be a great refresher workshop for our seasoned volunteers and incredibly valuable knowledge for our newer volunteers coming on board...
We are excited to offer our volunteers the opportunity to listen to Ryan Hannon, the head of street outreach and Safe Harbor through Goodwill Industries, about how to set healthy boundaries while being able to empathize with those that we work to help.
Mr. Hannon is an incredible individual with a vast amount of knowledge in our field, we promise you will want to come to listen and then pick his brain!
The training is provided for those interested in the Veteran 2 Veteran Mentoring Program but is being opened to everyone! This training will provide great skills for any volunteer that is working with others.
We are extending it to everyone because there will be great tips and training on relating to Neighbors and Clients in general, not just Veterans.
Participating in the training does not obligate one to become a mentor.
The Little Collaborative will volunteer as Safe Harbor Dinner hosts
When: December 22 from 5:30 - 8:00 (see details below)
Where: Presbyterian Church at 701 Westminster Road in Traverse City.
For the evening, we need four volunteers to set up and serve the meal and 4 volunteers to act as hosts, spending the evening with the guests, playing cards or games, talking and generally making them feel welcome.
The Little Collaborative recently held their first annual Volunteer Open House. The focus of the event was threefold: 1. To build awareness off the continuum of services offered by the three programs: HELPLINK, Family Partnership, and Agape Financial; 2. Recognize our current Volunteers; and 3. Inspire others to join us as volunteers.
Honoring our Volunteers
Our volunteers are the best! To show our appreciatio...
The Little Collaborative unveiled it's new short video at their First Annual Volunteer Open House. The open house is a way to learn more about the three organizations that are a part of the Collaborative, and an opportunity to thank volunteers.
Please feel free to share with others who are interested in volunteering with us!
